National General Contractor/Project Management Company looking for an experienced Commercial - Retail Construction "Traveling" Project Manager who enjoys traveling and a change of scenery wherever the next project lands.  Must be highly experienced “in the field” as a true "builder" as well as profoundly organized in paperwork in order to provide that equal balance necessary in managing a project.   This individual must be computer savvy, with many years of experience in the field, and be able to communicate clearly, efficiently and effectively.  Project types - Ground Ups to Tenant Improvements to fast track roll-outs in every kind of commercial construction.  We are only looking for “local” residents of Arizona who will become our lead traveling Project Manager(s). We are NOT offering relocation packages.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Communicate effectively, efficiently and professionally with Clients, Executive leaders and vendors.
  • Successfully manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders.
  • Develop a detailed project schedule to monitor and track progress, paying attention to critical path & milestones.
  • Ability to read plans, perform take-offs and estimates in order to draw up a constructability report coupled with a detailed budget.
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of said project(s).
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders ensuring technical feasibility
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation requirements
  • Communicate ideas for improving company processes with a positive and construction attitude, and for developing this attitude in others
  • Ability to produce "leads" to promote Team sustainability

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be a current Arizona for a minimum of 5 years and a current U.S. resident.
  • Must have minimum 10 years experience managing commercial, retail and mixed-use projects plus on-site management of no less than 5 years but prefer 5+.
  • Candidate must have experience in utilities, ground-up and tenant improvement build-outs.
  • Complete construction projects by directing construction requirements; comparing construction results to plans; resolving problems.
  • Strong "professional" presentation with excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
  • Full understanding of Construction Processes both on the site and in relation to "paperwork flow".
  • Maintain effective/positive relationships with Owners, Architects, Engineers, Inspectors, Testing Agencies, subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
  • Highly motivated and ability to be flexible in a team environment
  • Must be able to manage multiple workflows including performing take-off, qualifying bids, letting out contracts, creating scopes of work with NO gaps, creating schedules and facilitate timely change order processing ensuring sign off on Client approved changes.

  • Strong Computer literacy with working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Project/Excel), Outlook, and ProCore.
